Born to William and Alma Brandhorst, Colerain Township. Attended Colerain Elementary and Colerain High School, from which she withdrew at age 16 in order to help support her mother. Held jobs at Cincinnati's downtown YMCA, Cincinnati Bell and General Electric, where she met Edward Fowler Werden, to whom she was married on November 28, 1952. She was the mother of Denise Adele Werden MacFarland (husband, Reverend Thomas MacFarland) and Edward William Werden (wife, Sharon Wilkens Werden).
Grandchildren include: Abby McElfresh (Gregory McElfresh); Ian Hunter (April Hunter); Jason Werden (Stephanie Werden); Jared Werden (Mary Werden); Jesse Werden (Christa Werden); Mary MacFarland Johnston; William MacFarland (Andrea MacFarland); Thomas MacFarland (Mark Schibi).
Great grandchildren: Emme McElfresh; Liv McElfresh; Ada McElfresh; Ethan Hunter; Allison Hunter; Aubree Werden; Aria Werden; Zane Werden; Zoey Werden; Evelyn Werden; Dylan Johnston; Tyler Johnston; Elsie MacFarland; Alice MacFarland.
Services will be coordinated and celebrated at Paul R. Young Funeral Home, Mt. Healthy, Ohio; visitation at 10 am until time of service at 11 am on Friday, August 26, 2022, with graveside services to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
