Charles Williamson Obituary

Jim was born in Hamilton, Ohio to Martha Gene (nee Pierson) and Charles Williamson, Sr. on February 20, 1944. He grew up in Oxford and later went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Skilled in many vocations, he spent most of his career as a truck driver, where he became known for his CB handle Jungle Jim. The nickname stayed with him through the years, as did other nicknames like Jimmy and Jimbo.

A born tinkerer, Jim loved to work on cars, CB radios and anything he could get his hands on. You never knew what Jim was going to say next, which made his CB radio activities all the more fun. He loved life and having fun with friends and family whenever he could. He was ornery, had a larger than life personality, and a big sense of humor. He was a free spirit - a wild bird - and he had a lasting impact on the lives of his friends and family.

He met his match in 2009 when he met Norma McClure, with whom he would spend the rest of his years at their home in Oxford. He passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 17, 2022, surrounded by his loving family and with Norma by his side. Jim is the beloved father of Jamie (DJ) Jones, Dan (Nicki) Williamson, Kindra (Dwayne) Hacker, Terry (Shannon Schmidt) Ballinger, Andrea (Damon) Mayer, Angie (Nathan) Gillespie, Heidi (John Ridenour) Hill, Zach (Fallon) Williamson, and Angie (Scott Schnitker) Farris; cherished grandfather of Brittany (Zack) Marcum, Kara Jones, Cole (Shiloh) Jones, Kate Williamson, Jack Williamson, Sawyer (Ethan) Haemmerle, Sidney (Zack) Hacker, Summer (Jake) Hacker, Hope (Tyler) Ballinger, Kennedy Ballinger, Shawn (Logan) Stamper, Dylan Mayer, Austin (Tricia) Alexander, AJ (Tanner) Alexander, Morgan Gillespie, Ashley (Josh) Alexander, Courtney (Ricardo) Alexander, Kirsten (Jack) Hill, Trenton Hill, Preston Hill, Chelsey (Drew) Groth, John (Brooke) Ridenour, III, Braden Williamson, Chevy Williamson, Malik Williamson, Carmella Williamson, Sydney (Gregory) Conklin, Lydia Herron, Kolden Ratliff and fourteen great grandchildren; loving brother of Howard (the late Martha) Fenner, Anita (Emery) Persinger and Terry (Marsha) Williamson; dear cousin and uncle to many nieces, nephews and cousins; and treasured companion of his pup Bruce. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew Tommy Persinger and his stepson Mitch Ratliff.

Burial will immediately follow at Oxford Cemetery. Jim was a proud Vietnam Vet and his family would be deeply honored if you would consider a donation to the DAV to help support disabled American Veterans and their families.
