Daryl Wayne Corbett was born on April 1, 1942 in Powell, Ohio to Opal (nee Downey) and Rodney Corbett. He was raised in the Columbus area, attending St. Charles Preparatory School before graduating from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Daryl proudly served his country in the United States Army, Ohio National Guard and Wisconsin National Guard. His military career began in 1963 and he served until his retirement as a Major the the US Army in 1986. He later retired from his second career in insurance sales after working with many of the giants in the insurance industry.
On August 20, 1966, Daryl married the love of his life, Lynda. Together they raised four children and would later relocate to the Cincinnati area. Daryl adored his family and loved to spend his spare time making memories with them. His other great love was his alma mater, The Ohio State University. Daryl was a lifelong Buckeye alum and fan through and through. He also enjoyed golfing, coaching youth soccer, and tending to his impressive rose garden which was also beloved by the hummingbirds he fed. He had a gentle spirit but also had the heart of a warrior. A longtime member of the Catholic Church, Daryl's faith was strong and so was his resolve. From his years in the service in protection of the American people, to completing the 1996 New York Marathon, to battling for his life for over a decade, Daryl always persisted and kept the faith. He will always be a great example of strength in adversity and will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
Daryl was the beloved husband of Lynda (nee Eyerman) Corbett; devoted father of Tim D. (Paula) Corbett, Catherine Anne Corbett, Robert F. (Vicki) Corbett and Peter R. (Lisa) Corbett; adoring grandfather of Miranda, Beckham, Roman, Kingston and London Rose; dear brother of the late Jerry (Bev) Corbett, the late Dennis (Debbie) Corbett, Mike (Sandy) Corbett, Dale (Laura) Corbett, Jim (Lori) Corbett and Ray (Martha) Corbett.
