Judy Davis Obituary

Judy Kay (Buehler) Davis, age 68, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2020, at Hospice of Hamilton North In-Patient Care after several years of battling various medical conditions. Judy Kay was born January 15, 1952 in Dayton, OH, to Lawrence (Larry) Buehler and Hazel (Hartman) Maddock. She was a class of 1970 graduate of Union County High School in College Corner, IN where she excelled in various activities, academics, and was a friend to all. On July 31, 1970, she married her high school sweetheart, James (Jim) Taylor Davis. They were married for nearly 50 years. The Davises first resided in Richmond, IN prior to eventually putting down roots in Oxford, OH, where they remain.

In March of 1973 Judy was employed at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, OH. She served the majority of her career as a certified dietary manager and as food service supervisor in nutrition services. Judy retired in late 2016. During her tenure she earned several certifications, assisted in catering, was involved in the formation of the Meals on Wheels program, served on many committees, and for many years played an essential role in Oxford’s Relay for Life events. Since retirement, Judy has continued to serve her community. She volunteered in several capacities including fundraisers and acting as head chef providing meals for the Monday Night Supper Club at the Oxford Senior Citizens Center. Judy touched many lives. All who knew her will remember her smile, accepting nature, helping hands, and caring disposition. Judy never knew a stranger, and anyone could find a welcome home in her heart. Judy loved reading, sewing, writing, arts and crafts, ceramics, painting, and of course, cooking.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jim and their daughter Julie (Patrick) Lytle and Mary, a niece whom they loved and raised as their own, along with two sisters, many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. She was preceded in death recently by her sister Renee (Buehler) Parsley. A private celebration of life will be held July,18, 2020. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions set by the state of Ohio, the event will be by invitation only. Specific details will be provided by Jim and Julie. In lieu of flowers her family asks to please consider donations to:
