Lorenzo Rogers

OXFORD - Lorenzo was born November 4, 1928 to  to Mary Francis (nee Mack) and Samuel Rogers; he married his beloved wife, Janie Lee (nee Jones) Rogers, in 1954; he is the devoted father of the late Keith (Cassandra) Rogers, Calvin Rogers, Jesse (Ula) Rogers, Douglas Rogers, Jennifer Rogers and David (Joan) Rogers; cherished grandfather of Chad, Nathan and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren; loving brother of several siblings; dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

Lorenzo had a strong work ethic as an airplane mechanic and inspector. He worked for 26 years as an inspector for the FAA, 26 years in service of Hogan's Airfield as mechanic, and 17 years working at the Miami University Airport. He enjoyed working on small engines and also like to spend time outdoors gardening. He was affectionately known by many names including Larry, Lonzo, Renzy and Scooter. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and those who worked with him throughout his career. Lorenzo proudly served his country in the United States Army and will be buried at Dayton National Cemetery on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 12:30 PM. A visitation the morning of Tuesday January 18, 2022 will be held at Ogle & Paul R. Young Funeral Home in Oxford at 9:30 AM until time of funeral service at 10:30 AM.
